State and Territories occupational ceilings

Whiles States and Territories are no longer subject to the DIBP’s occupational ceilings, each state and territory is still limited by an overall allocation of nominations for the program year and need to manage nominations within their yearly allocation.

States and territories have their own processes to monitor and manage the flow of nominations by occupations to meet their current labour market conditions and to prevent over-supply or domination by any given occupation. Changes to DIBP occupational ceilings will not necessarily result in the reopening of occupations currently listed as closed or restricted by state and territories ceilings.
